Based in the studio in the morning, Neill will guide you through lighting a model and how to pose people to get the most flattering portraits.  He will take you through the different styles of lighting from softboxes to tungsten, from high to low key and how to use backlighting and fill.  During the afternoon you will go on location (weather permitting) to take lifestyle and location portraits of the model.  This will include instruction in using flash as fill in lighting and creative use of backlighting and the best approach to use in different lighting conditions.

What do you need to know?

  • Maximum 8 people.  Minimum 4.*
  • Cost £160 to include lunch.
  • 9.30am-5.30pm.
  • Dates 2010: Sunday 12th September, Friday 5th November.
  • You will need an SLR camera (or hire one from us, subject to availability).

How to Book

Once you have decided which date you would like to take the course, please click on the "book" link next to that date. This will take you to a form in which you can enter your details. Once submitted, we will contact you to confirm your interest in the course and arrange for you to make the £75 deposit that will reserve your place on the course. We reserve the right to cancel courses or change dates. If you have booked a course that needs to change, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

*All courses are subject to the minimum number of people booking on them.  So before making travel arrangements, please confirm with the studio that the course will be running.
